'Ello There

If you're reading this, you probably love soccer, or football, or whatever the art of putting a ball in the back of a net is called. I'm writing this because I love soccer, or football, or whatever else you want to call it. And in about two weeks I'll be taking a step towards completely changing my perspective on the game, because I'm moving to London for four months.

In those four months I'm going to throw myself into the world of English football, and hopefully find a place in that world. Because as much as I wish that I could say that I have the passion and intensity that the average football supporters have in England, I know that I don't. That's where Pitch of Glory comes in.

This blog will document my journey into the intense, passionate, exhilarating world of English football. From Pitch of Glory you can expect some solid journalistic pieces, observations about the football and the fans that I encounter, comparisons to American sporting culture, and hopefully a little humor and entertainment through it all. I want to be a part of this culture. I want to find a club that wins my heart. I want to chant and sing. I want to enter the sacred fraternity that is football in England. By documenting my experience as much as possible, I hope to do just that.
